Easter Monday marks the 40th anniversary of the loss of Aer Lingus flight EI 712 with the loss of all 61 people on board off Tuskar Rock, Co Wexford.

As we reported on Celtic News last month we have serious reservations about the so-called definitive enquiry into the crash carried out on behalf of the Irish government by independent experts in 2002.

Our reservations are shared by others and RTE radio broadcast a critical analysis of the report last month. Their investigation advanced a new and extremely credible theory. The RTE report together with a slide-show which can be run in conjunction with the podcast can be found at:

It really is past time the Irish government pressed the United Kingdom on the tragic events of March 24th 1968. Almost all witness evidence and credible analysis points towards a concealed miltary involvement in the loss of this aircraft.

The mystery of who or what caused the deaths of these 61 people has been unresolved for to long.
