NEWS FROM THE CELTIC LEAGUE An appeal for support has been issued by the Gaelic Medium support group Comann Nam-Pàrant - Inbhir Nis: They ask: Can you help us? The Highland Council are considering appointing a non Gaelic speaking Head Teacher to a permanent post at Bun-sgoil Ghàidhlig Inbhir Nis. As parents we believe that a permanent fluent Gaelic Head Teacher is essential for our school because: ? It is essential for our children who are the future of Gaelic ? Gaelic medium education should embrace and include all aspects of Gaelic culture not just the language ?Total immersion creates fluent, capable and confident Gaelic speakers, nurtured in a totally Gaelic environment ? Gaelic deserves a high status in the school and to be respected by all ? It sets a precedent for other Gaelic medium schools not only in the Highlands but across Scotland We ask you to please consider the points above, and to help us secure a Gaelic Speaking Head Teacher, thank you.
