NEWS FROM THE CELTIC LEAGUE The current policy of the Westminster government of detaining people in the north of Ireland without charge was described as a form of internment by the back door at the AGM of the Celtic League in Brittany this weekend. Celtic League Irish branch Secretary, Caoimhín Ó Cadhla, successfully moved a suspension of standing orders to have the AGM agree an emergency resolution calling for the release of all uncharged political prisoners in the north of Ireland. The Celtic League was urged to step-up its campaign in respect of the issue and press National governments and Regional rights bodies over the issue. The Celtic League has previously been an outspoken critic of detention provisions and prison facilities in the six counties. J B Moffatt (Mr)
