FAT PAY FOR JUDGES SHOWS PRIORITIES ARE WRONG As we reported in an earlier CL News item Ireland's Taoiseach, Enda Kenny, castigated the pay and conditions of Judges in an interview on RTE television broadcast yesterday. The Celtic League highlighted that it is not just Ireland that is over generous with judicial salaries and indeed both UK Judges and Manx Deemsters enjoy salaries and pensions higher than their Irish counterparts. See Celtic News article here: (voir le site) In his interview the Taoiseach said Judges were not a special case and that society should have greater priorities than maintaining there current levels of salary and pensions. His government plans to hold a referendum to address the issue. The Taoiseach's comment can be watched in full as part of this RTE video clip: (voir le site) J B Moffatt (Mr)
