NEWS FROM THE CELTIC LEAGUE There will be no respite for the long standing Editor of CARN (the journal of the Celtic League) as this years AGM voted to continue production of the printed version of the magazine through 2013, ahead of the possible introduction of an e-edition (eCarn) of the Inter-Celtic journal. Patricia Bridson, is the longest serving Editor of CARN and under her supervision the quality of the journal steadily improved from her appointment over 25 years ago. However, the League in common with other organisations has to accept that at some stage a print edition which is both expensive to produce and distribute will give way to an electronic version. The debate about the move to an e-version of CARN has been long and protracted in the League and many longstanding members are reluctant to call time on the publication. However, this years AGM, whilst agreeing a carryover through 2013, took steps to ensure a smooth transfer thereafter. Two resolutions to this effect were adopted by the meeting This AGM: Taking account of the time needed to develop an Ezine format, the obligation to inform members and supply issues paid for and the need to try to retain membership despite changes, this AGM recommends that the print version of Carn be maintained until the end of 2013. This AGM: Agrees that an electronic version of Carn, eCarn, designed to replace the print version of Carn, will be available for delegates to discuss and vote on at the 2013 AGM with the intention that it will be produced three times a year.
