Taoiseach Responds on British Army Recruitment Query
NEWS FROM THE CELTIC LEAGUE The Office of the Taoiseach has responded to our query about British Army recruitment in Ireland. We had specifically highlighted the questionable practice, under International Law, of recruiting children under the age of eighteen years. We cited the views of the UNCRC in this regard.

NEWS FROM THE CELTIC LEAGUE The Office of the Taoiseach has responded to our query about British Army recruitment in Ireland. We had specifically highlighted the questionable practice, under International Law, of recruiting children under the age of eighteen years. We cited the views of the UNCRC in this regard. The text of the response is set out below: ?Dear Mr. Moffatt I wish to acknowledge receipt of your correspondence of 28 February, 2015 regarding the recruitment of children under the age of 18 into the British Armed Forces. Your correspondence has been forwarded to the office of the Minister for Defence, Mr. Simon Coveney T.D., for his attention and direct reply to you on this matter.
