NEWS FROM CELTIC LEAGUE League AGM Held in Cymru The Celtic League held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) this weekend (25th to 26th October 2013) in Cymru/Wales. The AGM was held at Clwb y Bont in Pontypridd and was attended by delegates from the different Celtic countries to discuss the business of the League over the past year. One of the main issues on the table this year was the appointment of a new editor and how the transition between Carn and eCarn will take place. On the Saturday evening a social music event was organised at ?The Imperial Hotel? in Merthyr Tydfil. The Celtic League AGM is held in a different Celtic country each year and an alphabetical order is usually followed, using the names of each of the Celtic countries in their respective Celtic language - Alba (Scotland), Breizh (Brittany), Cymru (Wales), Éire (Ireland), Kernow (Cornwall) and Mannin (Isle of Man). However, at this years AGM it was unanimously decided that the 2014 AGM would not be in Éire, but in Alba with the view of celebrating the positive referendum, which is due to take place on 18th September 2014. At each AGM all of the Celtic League officer positions - General Secretary, Convener, Editor, Director of Information and Treasurer - are voted on, provided that someone is proposed and seconded to fulfill the role. The following people were elected unanimously to the respective positions as listed below, with their nation of residence stated in brackets afterwards: Rhisiart Tal-e-bot - General Secretary (Kernow)
Tony Leamon - Assistant General Secretary (Kernow)
Cathal O Luain - Convenor (Éire)
Rhisiart Tal-e-bot - Editor (Kernow)
Bernard Moffatt - Director of Information (Mannin)
Paul Kelly - Treasurer (Mannin) 28/10/13 For comment or clarification on this news item in the first instance contact: Rhisiart Tal-e-bot
