The International Criminal Police Organisation (Interpol) has responded to concerns expressed by the Celtic League that Spain was using the organisation to pursue a political agenda. ( voir notre article )

The substantive basis of the Celtic League concerns, which involve Interpol's compliance with a request by Spain to post an arrest warrant for the Basque Inaki de Juana Chaos, is set out at this link:

Subject: Your letter concerning Mr Inaki de Juana Chaos

Dear Sir,

The Office of Legal Affairs refers to your letter of 29 September 2008, addressed to the Secretary General of the ICPO-Interpol regarding an individual named Inaki de Juana Chaos.

We have noted the information provided. Please rest assured that Interpol is firmly committed to ensuring that information contained in INTERPOL's database is recorded and maintained in accordance with its rules.

The Office of Legal Affairs would like to inform you that your letter will be forwarded to the Commission for the Control of Interpol's Files which is the independent expert body in charge of processing requests for access or modification of information recorded in Interpol's files.
