CELTIC LEAGUE - PRESS INFORMATION

SUPPORT MERVILLE PARENTS CALL

Children as young as four years old are now the target of French repression of the Breton language.

As we move into another month the deadlock surrounding the funding and allocation of a Breton teacher to the nursery school at Merville, Lorient, remains unresolved.

Assistance for the parents and supporters of the twenty children who wish to be taught bilingually continues to grow and yet this display of resolve by parents and children has so far not prompted any concessions from Education officials.

The Merville parents need support and this can be demonstrated in a number of ways.

Celtic League members and any friends can sign the parents on-line petition at;

In addition, Celtic League National branches should write to the Minister for Education;

M. Gilles de Robien, Ministre de l'Education Nationale,110, rue de Grenelle, 75357 PARIS
