NEWS FROM THE CELTIC LEAGUE Following a consultation of its full members conducted by the Kernow Branch of the Celtic League, it has been decided to join in a demonstration to commence at 12 noon on Saturday 20th June, 2015 from outside the Bank of England, Queen Victoria Street, London EC2R 8AH. A number of high profile figures are scheduled to attend the event drawn from all parts of Britain and further afield including Welsh singer and song writer Charlotte Church. The event is due to end at 3pm that day. 45,000 people have already pledged to attend and this could be the biggest anti-Government, anti-austerity demonstration in years. More than most, the Cornish have the most to lose from this new Tory government in Westminster. Members felt a need to take concerns to the heart of the government in England. The Tories en masse have already and will continue to damage all that the Cornish hold dear. Many have asked when the time for action starts. The Branch believes it starts now. Celtic League members and others are invited to carry the flag of St. Piran. Being Cornish and/or from Cornwall , it is well accepted that the only way to behave is with dignity and peace. Members from other Branches will be joining the Cornish. The Branch has been in touch with the 'People's Assembly' to indicate their intentions. This is the umbrella organisation planning the demonstration. Transport arrangements are awaited from them. Further updates will follow. The Branch calls upon one and all to support this event and to share this news. The Kernow Branch has written to Cornwall's five Tory MPs to tell them of their intentions.
