There have been concerns expressed from Kernow about the possible omission of the Cornish language from a recent Council of Europe report.
I would clarify that although neither the Cornish or Manx language are mentioned in the press release of substantive recommendations from the Council Europe (COE) reference to both languages is made in the main report - a link for which is enclosed in our original report.
See Celtic News:
No 2144 COUNCIL OF EUROPE REPORT URGES MORE SUPPORT FOR CELTIC LANGUAGES - March 17 2007
The Celtic News link is a lengthy one at the conclusion of the article. If it will not open from our site then please go to www.coe.int/minlang and you will find a link on the right side of the page that will take you to the Committee's full report. There is a section on Manx from paras 12-18 and on Cornish from 28-29.
Hope this clarifies things for those from Kernow who expressed concern.
