John Bredenkamp, a Zimbabwean businessman with links to companies registered in the Isle of Man, has been added to the US Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) Specially Designated Persons list.

The OFAC notified the designation last month. See:

Bredenkamp is also being linked to an arms sales scandal in Africa, with media reports saying that BAE - the British armaments manufacturer - is accused, in a report compiled by the South African Police and UK Serious Fraud Office, of a corrupt relationships with Bredenkamp. See:

The Celtic League has been pressing the Manx government about links between companies registered in the Isle of Man and individuals involved in arms dealing in Africa. These new revelations seem to vindicate our concerns.
